Pay To Recieve Mobile Phone Calls

A roaming charges is what you pay to receive phone call through your mobile phone whilst abroad. Even until very recently these changes could be as much as $1 a minute and being charged per full minute even if only a few seconds were used. However recent debate about these excess charges had even been raised in Brussels, stating the mobile phone companies need to reduce these costs. The current results are cheaper roaming charges, but still not free in many cases.

So if you regularly travel abroad, the contract roaming charges should be part for your decision process to whether the mobile phone deal you are choosing is a good one or not. Even paying 40p a minute to receive a call could cancel out any benefit free minutes give you, if you receive many calls whist abroad. Remember any free minute within a mobile phone contract normally does not cover you for calls made outside the UK.

Global Sim Card For Mobile Phones

You can buy Global sim cards which are roaming charge free, these cam be picked up from various online websites including Ebay quiet cheaply. However the cost of making calls can cost as much if not more than standard UK sim cards, depending what countries you are calling from. Also if you regularly travel to only one country, it may be cheaper to buy a local sim card, you will not pay roaming charges in that country. So if you only receive calls whilst abroad and move a lot from country to country, the global sim card may be for you, if you mobile phone contract has high roaming call charges.

Finally if you intend to use your new mobile phone with a global phone card, make sure you choose one that can accept a global sim card. Some mobile phones on 3 contracts or use 3 technology, do not accept other sim cards.
