There are few inventions that have taken the world by storm and then become and integral part of most peoples lives. I suppose you could include the radio, television and the motor car within the exclusive group of products, but even these do not follow you whoever you are and who ever you are with, going to a bar or cinema another country, to work to play, chances are you will have that mobile phone with you.

So if it is with you most of the time, chances are it will become part of you and so in many cases any old mobile phone will not do, it needs to represent who you are at this point in your life and is probably a statement of who you are.

Nokia where clever enough to realise this many years ago, when in the UK we were to see people changing the colour of their phone on TV adverts. Everyone now knoew they could have mobile phone to suit their mood or the clothes they were wearing, or even shout to the world what interests they have, when the coloured facia moved on to those that hade photos included.

If the colour of your mobile phone was discreet that was going to change with the invention of the ring tone. Of course we are not talking about those one note mono tone things, but full mp3 recording of some ones favourite song of the moment, and of course everyone gets to hear. Try and go through a full day without hearing someone’s ring tone either on the tube, office even TV, you will find it harder than you think. You probably can make some key decisions of that person just be hearing their ringtone statement.

Colour screens now means you can be greeted with you favourite photo on your mobile phone. Chances are secrets or even things you want others to see, will be there as another statement. I know my wife normally has a photo of me on her phone, until she became pregnant. Then it was the scan that was on her phone and then of course the baby. The wallpaper on her phone is a statement to the world of what is important to her.

Even the type of phone tells the outside world about who you are. Pink mobile phones, business mobile phones even old fashioned phones sends out clues or statements about you.
